This Privacy Policy explains how Karma Yoga Kendra ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use our member portal and website at https://karmayogakendra.in. The portal is hosted on Studio Platform, which provides the technical platform on our behalf.
Data controller
Karma Yoga Kendra is the data controller for personal information collected through our school portal. For privacy enquiries, contact us using the details at the end of this policy.
Information we collect
Account information
When you register, we collect your name, email address, mobile phone number, and password (stored in hashed form). We record your account role (student or teacher) and account status.
Profile information
You may optionally provide a profile photo, biography, date of birth, gender, address, guardian details, and professional qualifications (for teachers). Teacher accounts may include approval status and related metadata.
Usage and learning data
We record data related to your use of the portal as features are enabled for our school:
Session bookings and cancellations
Video lesson watch progress and completion status
Attendance records for classes and sessions
Payment amounts, currency, status, and payment gateway references (processed via Razorpay)
Coupon codes applied to enrollments
Communications
We store email delivery logs for transactional messages. Notification preference settings (class reminders, enrollment updates, marketing) are stored on your account. Marketing communications are off by default.
Contact enquiries
If you submit a contact form or account-deletion request, we store the information you provide (name, email, optional phone, message).
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
Create and manage your account
Provide courses, classes, bookings, and portal features enabled for our school
Process payments and enrollment where applicable
Send transactional and reminder emails you have not opted out of

Data retention and deletion
We retain your information while your account is active. When you delete your account:
Your user profile, avatar, enrollments, bookings, progress, attendance, payments, notifications, and preferences are permanently deleted
Contact enquiries linked to your email are anonymized
A minimal registration hold (hashed email and phone with masked hints, not raw personal data) remains until cleared by an administrator or successful re-registration with approval
Disabled accounts retain data until the account is re-enabled or deleted.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You can update profile details and notification preferences in your account. You may delete your account from account settings (subject to verification and business rules described in our Terms).

Security
